It’s hard to believe it’s nearly August!

You must visit your primary care physician and complete your exam by the end of September. Please don’t delay. Schedule your appointment today!

Follow these steps to avoid the 2019 elective premium increase:

  1. Complete the Registration & Consent Form and Authorization of Use & Disclosure of Protected Health Information Form - Employees and their covered spouses each must complete these forms, which are available on the Employee Information Center (EIC).
  2. Biometric Measures and Physical Confirmation - Complete an annual physical exam with your primary care physician between Oct. 1, 2017 and Sept. 30, 2018, as well as a standard lab-test blood draw. Have your physician complete and sign the “Biometric Measures and Physical Confirmation” form. If you do not have a doctor, visit www.myuhc.com and log into your account. Then, click on the “Find a Doctor” link. You may also call 1-877-571-9867 for assistance.
  3. Submit the Forms - Submit the completed forms by Oct. 15, 2018. Scan and email to saia@trihealth.com or securely fax to 1-513-487-4672.
Also, don’t forget to enter our social media contest. You can avoid paying the elective premium increase in 2019 and have a chance at winning great prizes!

Employees who post a picture to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using hashtag #SaiaHealthy will be entered into a drawing to win one of three prizes including a fitness kit, fitness tracker or a day of paid time-off!

To be eligible to win:

  • Submit your “Saia Healthy Directions” forms by Oct. 15
  • Post a photo on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram showing how you stay healthy using hashtag #SaiaHealthy, tagging Saia in the post
  • Like or follow Saia Careers on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram

The contest will run until Sept.30 and is open to full-time employees hired before Dec. 31, 2017 and who have submitted their forms. Winners will be announced the last week of October.

Total Compensation Statement – Employee Compensation

Saia delivers a total compensation package that provides significant value to employees. It is designed to provide competitive compensation and benefits for you to meet your current financial needs, provide protection for you and your family should something unforeseen happen, and help you reach your long-term financial goals.

Total compensation, also referred to as a “hidden paycheck,” consists of compensation/pay, plus applicable overtime for work performed and benefits including:

  • Medical coverage with prescription and vision components
  • Company-paid life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance
  • Company-paid disability coverage
  • Vacation pay
  • Holiday pay
  • Sick/Personal time pay
  • Matching 401(k) retirement savings of 50 percent up to 6 percent of your annual gross income
Saia continues to offer a valuable medical plan to employees and has not raised premiums over the last few years. The majority of the total cost of our medical plan is paid for by Saia, with eligible employees with 10 years or more of service receiving free medical, regardless of their level of coverage.

The following preventive measures may be used to assist Saia in keeping medical costs low:

  • Always use in-network UnitedHealthcare doctors for services
  • When filling prescriptions, ask your doctor for generics
  • Remember to schedule an annual wellness appointment

To view your total compensation statement outlining your compensation and benefits, please log into the EIC and click on the “Total Compensation Statement” link under “Payroll Information.” There, you can review the amounts Saia contributes to your total compensation to understand the true value of your benefits package.

401(k) Retirement Savings

Are you saving for your future? If not, now is the time to act! Saia matches 50 percent of each pre-tax dollar you contribute on the first 6 percent of pay that you defer to your 401(k) retirement savings plan.

Be sure to take advantage of this pre-tax benefit and consider increasing your contribution to 6 percent or more. Investing in your future with a 50 percent match up to the first 6 percent is like getting “free” money!

You can access your account online through Fidelity NetBenefits® at www.401k.com or by calling 1-800-835-5095, between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday, excluding New York Stock Exchange holidays, to speak with a representative.
