Mark your calendars!
Open Enrollment 2021

Saia’s annual online open enrollment will held this year from Oct. 12 through Nov. 6, 2020. The open enrollment period allows benefit-eligible employees to elect benefits coverage for 2021. Remember, all full-time employees desiring benefits must enroll even if they have previously enrolled either as a newly hired employee in 2020 or during past open enrollment periods. Be on the lookout in the coming weeks for more information pertaining to benefits open enrollment.

Qualifying life events…
What You Need to Know

Did you know that because your benefits are deducted on a pretax basis, there are set limits of when an employee may make changes to their benefits outside of the new hire and/or open enrollment periods?

An eligible employee may only change benefit elections outside of new/open enrollment periods if they experience a qualifying life event such as, but not limited to, a birth, adoption, marriage or divorce.

Employees must notify the Benefits Department with 31 days of the life event occurring to qualify for changes.

For more detailed information, please review the "New Hire/Open Enrollment Guide" available on the “Employee Information Center, or EIC, and through the enrollment website.

Free Benefits Provide Support

As we approach another month of this new normal that we are all living in, I want to thank employees for their dedication and concern for the safety of others. During these times, we have all been faced with new challenges and have continued to rise above them.

We would like to call your attention to the following free benefits available to you and your eligible family.  Saia offers, through Prudential, access to tools to assist you in planning and meeting your financial goals.

In addition to financial wellness, Saia offers an Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) for those in need of financial advice, grief counseling, or general overall support because of the pandemic. You and your eligible family are offered up to three free confidential visits either by phone or in person.

To learn more about these benefits, please visit Prudential’s Financial Wellness website, www.prudential.com/saia, where you can create a unique account. Or, contact the EAP by calling 1-800-888-2998 or visiting www.liveandworkwell.com. The password is Saia.

In the event you have any questions, please contact my team and me by email — empben@saia.com.
