Open Enrollment Ends Soon

Time is running out!

Saia’s annual online open enrollment period began Oct. 11 and will end next Friday, Nov. 5, 2021. Open enrollment allows benefit-eligible employees to elect benefits coverage for 2022. Remember, all full-time employees desiring benefits must enroll even if they have previously enrolled either as a newly hired employee in 2021 or during past open enrollment periods. Employees with 10 years or more of service, along with their enrolled spouses and dependents, who receive benefits with no premium must also enroll to have coverage.

While health care expenses continue to rise, we remain committed to providing quality, affordable health care for all our eligible, full-time employees as we understand how highly valued this benefit is to our personnel and their families. With this being said, there are three changes to our 2022 plan and offerings:

  • A $250 copay will be charged for emergency room visits. This charge will be waived if the patient is admitted to the hospital.
  • Virtual visit copays will now be paid at 100%.
  • We will also be offering a new benefit, a voluntary group legal plan through MetLife, which will offer assistance to enrollees regarding a variety of issues including driving tickets, adoption, elder care concerns, mortgages and more.

Beyond these changes, all other premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, out-of-pocket maximum limits, and prescription coverage will remain unchanged. Additionally, most preventive services will be paid for at 100%. For employees with 10 years or more of service, along with their enrolled spouses and dependents, Saia will continue to provide health care benefits with no premium.
