Company Update

This month's Company Update spotlights the announcement of the new vice president of talent acquisition and several promotions.

Brody Named Vice President of Talent Acquisition

Nina Brody joined the Saia team in September as our vice president of talent acquisition. In this newly defined role, she will lead our talent acquisition team to improve how we attract, hire, and onboard talent.

Nina has nearly 25 years of strategic leadership experience specializing in transforming talent operations. She leads with strong competencies in change management, talent acquisition operations, customer-focused results, and process improvements. She will lead our efforts to create simple, consistent, and scalable talent processes that allow us to fill current jobs while building talent pipelines to support our growth.

Nina has held leadership roles with direct responsibility for talent teams across many national services companies with geographically distributed workforces. She joined us from CSC Service Works, one of the largest commercial air vending and laundry services companies. At CSC, she established strategies and repeatable processes to hire over 1,000 employees a year. Prior to CSC, she was vice president of talent acquisition for BrightView Landscapes, which has annual revenues of $2.3 billion, where she designed and implemented staffing strategies, onboarding, outsourcing, employer branding, career website development, college recruitment, talent pipeline development, diversity recruitment, candidate experience, and hiring tax incentive programs. Nina’s team supported the hiring of 15,000 hourly and 1,000 salaried employees on a yearly basis.

Additionally, Nina has held similar leadership positions at Allied Universal Security Services, Walgreens, and Cigna Corporation.

She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, a master’s degree in organizational psychology from Columbia University and a doctorate degree in organizational psychology from Temple University. She is also an adjunct professor of leadership in the Executive MBA Program at Temple University.

Cinelli Named National Account Executive

Raymond Cinelli has been named a national account executive in charge of special projects.

He brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role as he has nearly 35 years of experience in the transportation industry and has served in a variety of positions during his career. They include vice president of corporate sales, vice president of agent and carrier relations, director of enterprise accounts, terminal manager and more - for several carriers and companies such as LandAir, Ascent Global Logistics, UPS, and Preston Trucking Company. He possesses a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Niagara University.

Garrett Named KCY Regional Manager

Phil Garrett has been named our new Kansas regional manager. Phil joined Saia in 2014 and had most recently been serving as the terminal manager for our Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (HBG) facility. 

He has 23 years of experience in the transportation industry, having started his career as a dockworker. Over the years, he has been promoted into positions of increasing responsibility where he used his leadership skills and knowledge to drive employee and terminal success.

New KCY District Sales Manager Named

Matt Hoffer has been named district sales manager for the Kansas City (KCY) Region; he will be domiciled in Denver, Colorado.  

Matt has 13 years of experience in the transportation industry. A graduate of the University of Kansas, he got his start in logistics with a national 3PL prior to coming on board with Saia in 2016. Starting his career as an account executive in Denver, Matt was quickly promoted to business development executive due to his high level of success in field sales.  Matt was award Presidents Club in 2017 and 2018, along with finishing in the top 10% of the company in 2021.

Real Estate Facilities Manager Appointed

In August, Alfred “Al” Padilla, Jr. was named the real estate facilities manager for our Western division. In this role, Al is responsible for the delivery of real estate facility management services and related facility projects, expense, and capital. This includes but is not limited to overseeing engineering and site services, energy management, and environmental health and safety compliance. 

Al has over 20 years of experience in facilities management/transportation. He previously served as a facilities manager for TEC Equipment, C.R. England, and EMCOR Facilities Services. Prior to this, he served in various managerial roles for ViewSonic Corporation, CSK Auto Inc., and Sears Holdings Corporation.

Al attended the Institute for Business & Technology in Santa Clara, California where he received certification in electronics engineering.

Segreti Named ORD Terminal Manager

Bob Segreti was named the terminal manager for our new O’Hare Chicago, Illinois terminal (ORD). The facility opened at the end of August. The ORD terminal has the most customer-dense territory in the CGO Region and is the largest new facility Saia has opened this year with nearly 100 employees servicing 200 inbound customers and 500 outbound customers daily.  

Bob has 25 years of LTL industry experience, having managed several terminals of all sizes over the years. From 2013 to 2021, he was the manager of our Chicago, Illinois (CGO) terminal.

Webb Receives Promotion

Justin Webb was named the terminal manager of Saia’s Richmond, Virginia (RCM) facility. Justin joined the company in 2007 and has worked in several different positions, each wide-ranging and with increasing degrees of responsibility. He has served as a city driver and driver trainer, as a weight and research coordinator, and as an inbound supervisor. He has 21 years of experience in the transportation industry.
