Work Boots Added to Saia Uniform Program

We are pleased to announce that safety footwear options have been added to the Saia uniform program/website. Employees can order these items on our site using their allotted funds. We’re excited about this addition to the apparel program...we hope you are too!

Saia Exhibits at GATS

The Trucking Moves America Forward (TMAF) mascot visited the Saia LTL Freight booth during this month’s Great American Trucking Show (GATS) held in Dallas, Texas. On hand to greet him, were several representatives from Saia who were there to recruit on behalf of the company.

At press time, a contest to name the mascot was coming to an end. Over the last several months, visitors to the TMAF website could vote for either “Axle,” “Bob Tail,” “Safety Sammy,” “Seymour S. Miles” and “Wheels.”

GATS is an interactive and all-encompassing public convention of trucking professionals that hosts more than 500 exhibitors as well as educational sessions, entertainment shows, giveaways and more. The show works to create an interactive, energizing environment entirely focused on the trucking industry.

Total Eclipse of the…

Several NSH terminal employees took a few minutes to enjoy the recent eclipse that cut a wide path across the country on Aug. 21. The eclipse was the first total solar eclipse to sweep across the entire country in 99 years and Nashville, Tenn. was the largest city in the United States in its path. Those in Music City, USA watched day turn to night as the moon completely blocked the sun from the sky for about two minutes.

LAX Inspection

LAX Dockworker Genaro Ramos, Jr. was recently commended by Saia Vice President of Operations, West Bill Kennedy, (Bill is the one standing on the back of the tractor/mule!), on the cleanliness of the LAX yard as well as his attention to safety. Way to go Genaro!
