Company Update

This month's Company Update highlights the new director of pricing, the addition of a new national account executive, and the new Charleston, South Carolina terminal manager. Also featured are the new director of talent acquisition and the new HBG regional district sales manager.

Batteh Named New Director of Pricing

Matt Batteh has been named the new director of pricing. In his new role, Matt will provide leadership and support to the local and national pricing groups; manage, communicate and optimize department processes and procedures; and work collaboratively with sales to drive revenue, profits and, ultimately, shareholder value.  

Matt joined Saia in 2015 as a senior financial analyst. Most recently, he had been serving as a director of planning and profitability and has done a great job in furthering the company’s financial planning and analysis process and the development of new analytics. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Auburn University. Pricing managers Chris Pontiff, John Fogel, Kyle Short, Dmitriy Pankratov and Jacob Breeding will report to Matt going forward.

Judson Joins Saia as National Account Executive

Bill Judson has been named a new national account executive for the company. In this position, he’ll be responsible for accounts in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, northern Georgia, and Tennessee.

Bill brings to Saia a wealth of experience having worked in the transportation industry for over 30 years in various sales and operational roles at several large, national carriers. He graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota with a degree in business administration and accounting.

Keeler Transitions to Terminal Management Role

Jamie Keeler has been named our new Charleston, South Carolina terminal manager. In this role, he’ll be responsible for the facility’s day-to-day operations including dispatch and appointments.

With 11 years of industry experience, Jamie joined Saia in 2015 and had been serving as an account executive. He also has previous experience as an operations supervisor, city and line driver, forklift operator, and TM/SR. He attended the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.

Director of Talent Acquisition Hired

Hema Moonsammy has been named Saia’s director of talent acquisition. In this new role, Hema will be responsible for the recruitment of talent to the company including the overall strategy, forecasting and supervision of the talent acquisition team. Additionally, she’ll lead the planning, development and implementation of Saia’s recruitment processes while building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.

She began her career in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she managed incentive programs for Fortune 100 companies. She later moved into e-commerce project management. After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia Hema spent a number of years doing hands-on IT and engineering recruiting and was the director of recruiting for a consulting firm. She is passionate about people and is driven to make the best match for candidates and organizations alike. She possesses a bachelor’s degree in economics and communication.

Williard Named HBG Regional District Sales Manager

As part of our strategy to develop the best sales force in the industry, a district sales manager position for the HBG Region was created and CLT Account Executive Creig Williard was promoted to this role.

With over 30 years of experience in the LTL industry in sales, sales leadership, and operations, Creig began his career at Saia in 2011. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University. Moving forward, he’ll be responsible for the coaching and development of our account executives working in both Maryland and Pennsylvania.
