Saia Supports the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team

As a sponsor of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team (WWAFT), Saia salutes service members who took on alumni of the Green Bay Packers and NFL in a halftime exhibition game held during festivities earlier this month at Lambeau Field during the Green Bay Packers-Miami Dolphins game.

“We were thrilled to be able to assist WWAFT in their mission to showcase the determination and talents of our nation’s wounded warriors,” said Saia Vice President of Human Resources Michelle Richard. “Our veterans and their families are to be commended for the sacrifices they’ve made on behalf of our country. We owe them all a tremendous debt of gratitude.”

WWAFT, which is made up of veterans who use a prosthetic device to engage in everyday life activities, visits various cities across the country to play exhibition games with current and retired professional athletes to emphasize the fact that all veterans are able to contribute at home, excel in the workplace and continue to be great patriots and ambassadors for the U.S. By showcasing team members on the football field, the WWAFT seeks to inspire fans and highlight the perseverance of both active and former service members who continue to face life’s challenges without excuses.
