Letters

This month's Letters highlight Saia employees or departments that have received special thanks from some of our customers or the public.

Dear Sir/Ma'am:

I wanted to reach out and recognize the unbelievable service I received from one of your employees, BGO Product Compliance Specialist Victoria Allmer.

I've been doing business with Saia for roughly a year now and have been continually impressed with all your employees – especially those in customer service. Whenever I call in with an issue or question, I'm quickly connected to someone who has obviously been well-trained and is a pleasure to work with. The driver that picks up our loads at our new location (Oscar) is awesome. So was the driver at our last location (Vernon). It's the frontline people that make your company great.

Last week, I had a shipment that needed to get to a customer quicker than standard delivery as customers don't seem to understand that pallets can't be moved across the country like envelopes, but I'm sure you guys see that all the time. Victoria helped me with alternatives of where the product could be shipped quickly and I was very pleased with the price of the special quote.

As you can imagine, when something actually has to be quicker than normal – problems occur. This shipment certainly had its share of issues. I understand that and recognize that once something goes off on a specialized process – often other things do too. Stuff happens.

Despite all the issues we had with this order, Victoria kept in constant communication with me offering new solutions as new problems developed and showed a commitment to the customer (me) that quite frankly blew me away. I could not have asked for more helpful/knowledgeable support and you should be very proud that someone like this is representing your company. Bob, at the San Antonio terminal, actually called my customer when the load arrived. The customer was very happy and even though the order was late and ended up in a different location they felt good as I was able to constantly update them and appreciate the effort from your team.

In my past life, I've run multibillion-dollar companies and am used to being treated well. I now run a small specialty chemical company and only do a few loads a month, but whenever I or my team interacts with your employees, we feel like we're important to them (even though we're not in the billion dollar club).

I realize in business you normally only hear the bad things – and I just wanted to take a few minutes and show my appreciation for Victoria and your other employees that do such a great job.

Sincerely,

James Imbler

My name is Gregory North and I’m from Titusville, Pennsylvania. Recently, ERI City Driver Brian Carter delivered a 2,000 pound shipment to my house and did an outstanding job. Brian deserves a raise…(he provided) unbelievable customer service that I did not expect.

I was not home and was nervous about my delivery. I came home to the package in my driveway, at the garage door. It looked like God dropped it off from the sky as there was no damage, it was perfectly aligned and I had it in the garage in minutes.

I understand this is not the typical process and curbside delivery is what is advertised but the driver took into account that I had a gravel drive and went above and beyond. He even left me a note saying, “Sorry, I couldn’t get it closer.” I’m just speechless! Please give credit, where credit is deserved!

Thanks!
