Around Saia

This month, we highlight a terminal food drive, employee participation in National Wreaths Across America Day, and the retirement of a city driver.

DLS Terminal Hosts Holiday Food Drive

Employees at our Dallas (DLS) terminal hosted a food drive for a local food bank, Irving Cares. They successfully collected over 800 pounds of food! DLS Terminal Manager Ken Eriksen sent along a request to give a “special shout out to DLS Training Supervisor Lyndsey Hill for driving the terminal’s efforts and delivering the food.” Ken said that “between Toys for Tots and the food bank donation, DLS ‘showed out’ again!”

Employees Participate in Wreath-laying Ceremonies

On December 17, numerous employees across our network volunteered to lay wreaths at veterans’ cemeteries around the country. Designated “National Wreaths Across America Day,” it’s a day that is set aside each year to honor and remember our nation’s fallen heroes during the holidays.

In addition to employees laying wreaths, Saia and LinkEx also donated transportation services, picking up and delivering wreaths being placed at the ceremonies.

Saia has partnered with Wreaths Across America 2017. We are proud to be able to support this wonderful organization as we know that so many of you are military veterans or have a personal connection with someone who has served.

City Driver Retires

Wichita (WTK) City Driver David Fulton recently retired after 13 years of dedicated service to the company. He was honored with a small party by his colleagues at the terminal. WTK Terminal Manager Zach Roberson said David was a wonderful employee – and someone he and everyone at the terminal will greatly miss! David, we wish you a long and wonderful retirement!
