Company Update

This month's Company Update highlights the new North American market specialist, the new BGO customer service supervisor, and the new in-terminal customer service representatives, along with the remaining terminals where Saia will add the service this year.

Law Named a North American Market Specialist

Benji Law has been named our fifth North American market specialist.  In this role, he will be responsible for growing our revenue and market share for each strategic business unit by working with both our field and national sales teams. He will focus on securing new Canada shippers, growing our LinkEx business, increasing the number of shippers using our Saia Guaranteed service, and supporting all of our specialty products.

Though new to Saia, Benji has 13 years of industry experience having worked in various positions including regional sales manager, sales development manager, and national account executive. He attended Georgia Southern University.

Wilson Named BGO Customer Service Supervisor

Amy Wilson has been named a customer service supervisor at the BGO. In this new role, Amy will be responsible for inbound customer inquiries as well as the training and development of new customer service representatives.

She joined Saia in 2014 as a customer service representative before moving into a Quality Assurance role. Most recently, she served as a team lead and trainer. Prior to Saia, Amy worked for a major telecom organization and as a regional training manager in the food industry.

In-terminal Customer Service Now in Place

For a number of years, Saia customer service has been centralized at the ACO and the BGO. As we heard during our quarterly meetings, it’s important that as we expand our terminal footprint and grow market share, we are maintaining a high level of customer service.

To help us accomplish this goal, we are moving some of the customer service functions to our larger terminals. Doing so allows customer service to better coordinate with operations as it relates to appointment deliveries, service defects and claims.

In total, we’re targeting 15 facilities where we will have customer service resources at the terminal working directly with customers and centralized customer service. To date, we’ve already added employees at several terminals:

ATL:

Heidi Appel
Christian Moore

CGO:

Doreen Bieser
Sabrina Gumbus

DEN:

Stephanie Gomez
Robin Payne

FON:

Erin Giroux
Jamie Parker

KCY:

Taran Preator

LAX:

Robin Thomas
Nora Vazquez
