Letters

This month's Letters highlight Saia employees that have received special thanks from some of our customers or the public.

Hi!

I recently had a delivery by GRJ City Driver Chris Hawks. He did a GREAT JOB!

We are a working horse ranch in Basalt, Colorado and receive numerous shipments throughout the year. Deliveries made here sometimes face challenging circumstances. Chris was by far the calmest, communicative, professional and timely driver we’ve worked with in several years.

Please forward this email to the appropriate person. Chris is deserving of whatever commendations or accolades Saia offers.

Best Regards,

Cara Barnes

I called customer service to make sure the truck sent out for delivery had a lift gate due to our building not having a usable loading dock. When the delivery arrived, the driver, DLS City Driver Uber Estrada, said he did not have a lift gate, but it was no problem for him to unload and place the boxes in the designated room. I showed him where the room was and asked him, specifically, if he would unload on the long counter. He told me it was no problem to do that.

Even though it was not the most ideal way to unload, Mr. Estrada never acted or said anything negative about the load. He had to look for me twice because I was covering for a colleague in our front office.

Even though I had never met this driver, he was the most helpful, courteous and respectful driver I have had. He made sure all the door stops were pulled, all the doors were closed and everything was back in the order. Please recognize this driver for a job well done - above and beyond expectations.

Thank you!

A newer driver named, AQE City Driver Derek Anderson, helped us recently with the retrieval of multiple shipping crates from our loading dock, scheduled to go to Dallas, Texas. I am writing this email to alert you that Mr. Anderson conducted himself like the consummate professional in representing your company. He was articulate and helpful in every way despite the fact that the shipping crates were awkward and heavy. Further, he was efficient and friendly despite the long working hours…we were his last stop late in the day.

Customers are always quick to complain about an employee who, for whatever reason, cannot please the customer, but in my experience, Saia is batting a 1000. Every employee who I have personally encountered has been the consummate professional — from AQE Account Executive John Warner to AQE City Driver Douglas Rickers and the newer drivers like Derek.

Thank you for maintaining an internal policy of excellent customer service.

Regards,

Joe
