Company Update

This month, we are highlighting new terminal managers and two new directors.

Hollis Accepts Terminal Manager Position

Aaron Hollis has been named our new Denver, Colorado (DEN) terminal manager. He will be tasked with making sure the facility’s operations are running at their best.

With 22 years of experience in the transportation industry, Aaron joined the company last September and had been serving as the terminal’s assistant manager. Prior to Saia, he worked 21 years with FedEx Freight. Aaron graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1999.

Maxwell Named Director of Legal Affairs

Marlin Maxwell has been named Saia’s director of legal affairs. For the past five years, he had been serving as our director of human resources.

Before coming to Saia, Marlin served as the regional compliance manager for a large, international retailer. Prior to this role, he served as their assistant general counsel for both their tort litigation and litigation support groups. He possesses a wealth of experience in company operational compliance, regulatory laws, and employee training. Marlin received his doctorate of law degree from the New England School of Law. He received a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University.

Mendoza Named CGO Terminal Manager

Eric Mendoza has been named the new Chicago, Illinois (CGO) terminal manager. Eric has worked in the industry since 2012, and with Saia since 2015. During his time with the company, Eric has served in numerous operational roles at several terminals including Calexico (CLX) and San Diego (SDO), California and Phoenix (PHX) and Tucson (TSN), Arizona. Most recently, Eric was serving as the terminal manager for our Colorado Springs (COS) and Denver (DEN), Colorado facilities. His success at these locations precedes him as he now transitions into the role of CGO break terminal manager.

“Chicagoland is both a gateway to and cornerstone of the LTL market, connecting shippers to consignees from sea to shining sea,” explained CGO Regional Manager Bryan Turner. “The experience Eric has gained at other locations will well position him for success in this market.  I have no doubt that his skillset will continue to drive growth, operational excellence, culture development, and a positive customer experience.”

Moore Promoted to Director Role

Charles Moore has been named our new director of human resources (HR). He has been with Saia since 2016 when he started as a regional HR manager for the ACO and the Atlanta and Charlotte regions.

For 23 years, Charles worked for Walmart logistics. The last 12 there were spent as a regional HR manager covering multiple states. Additionally, he served in the U.S. Army for nine years, as a law enforcement officer for eight years and as a city councilman in his hometown of Douglas, Georgia for 10 years.

Tedford Receives Promotion, Named SYR Terminal Manager

Robert Tedford has accepted the position of terminal manager for our Syracuse, New York (SYR) facility. Robert has worked in the industry since 2013, and with Saia since 2019. During his time with the company, he has served as an operations supervisor in our Concord, New Hampshire (CND) terminal.  He also played a vital role in the opening of the CND and Burlington, Vermont (BVT) terminals. Robert is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
