Letters

This month's Letters highlight Saia employees or departments that have received special thanks from some of our customers or the public.

Jimmy Jordan
Terminal Manager
HKY

Dear Jimmy:

My name is Katherine and I would like to show my appreciation for HKY City Driver Jeff Smith. On Feb. 8, Jeff was patient, friendly, confident, personable, and professional and he exhibited an expert handling of the truck and the pallet jack. The delivery was extremely difficult due to our limited and narrow parking lot and docking space for the truck, landscape obstacles, and an incline into the loading area. If there existed an Olympic gold medal for 18-wheeler maneuvering and unloading fragile cargo, Jeff would have won two of them.

We are grateful for the quality of your company drivers at Saia.

In Christ's Love,

Regional Sales Manager
NWK

Hi John:

I just wanted to reach out to you about my last experience with Saia LTL Freight. Cannon had a customer in Utah that wanted us to demo a piece of our equipment in their facility. They wanted it delivered on or before Feb. 17 and have one of Cannon’s representatives there to set it up and run the machine for them for a potential sale. I reached out to several of my LTL freight reps and no one would guarantee it would make it in the time frame, with weather being an issue in the West.

I reached out to ALT Account Executive Stephanie Beech to see if she could help me with this issue. She was a little worried about the weather as well and if the shipment would make it there in a timely manner. I told her to roll the dice, so to speak, and take a chance (to see if) it would make it there. Well, I have to say, Stephanie went above and beyond with every effort to make sure this shipment got there on time to our customer. She was emailing me every day and calling to keep me updated as to the whereabouts of this shipment.

One day this week, I came in and had an email from her that she sent out at 10:27 p.m. at night just letting me know where the shipment was at. That shows me a lot of the professional attitude that Stephanie has at her job - that she takes things to heart and goes above and beyond to make sure things work out for her customers.

Moving forward, the shipment did arrive a day late (due to weather), but our customer service representative had a delay on his end as well, so everything worked out perfect on this shipment. I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know my thoughts on what a great person I think you have in Stephanie. I would like to work with Stephanie and Saia moving our shipments across the U.S.

Thank you for your time,

Jeff Snoberger
