Company Update

This month, we are highlighting the new VP of Safety and Claims Prevention. Also featured are several new terminal managers.

Greenhill Appointed VP of Safety and Claims Prevention

In order to support our human resources (HR), safety and claims prevention efforts at the company, the Safety Department transitioned to new leadership in April. Steve Greenhill was named our new vice president of safety and claims prevention. Karla Staver will continue to serve in her role as vice president of HR.

Steve joined Saia in 2014 and since that time had been serving as our director of claims prevention. In his new role, Steve will assume leadership for all elements of our safety programs as well as maintain leadership of the claims prevention team. Steve and Karla, as well as their respective teams, will continue to work closely together as they continue to build and strengthen Saia’s core values.

Steve has nearly 40 years of experience in the transportation industry and in addition to his time working in claims prevention, he has previous experience as a manager in sales and service. He holds a bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University.

Langford Promoted to Terminal Manager

Don Langford was named our new HST terminal manager at the end of March. Don has worked for Saia for 19 years - all in HST. He has worked in operations as a supervisor, manager, and for many years, as the facility’s assistant terminal manager. According to HST Regional Manager David Hanlon, Don has a tremendous work ethic and is a great coach and teacher of the Saia culture.

“I personally have worked with Don for many years and he is an excellent leader of Saia’s policies, procedures and culture,” explained David. “He is a big reason the terminal has been a President’s Club winner twice in the last five years. Don said he is committed to work as if it is for the Lord and in doing so, he will make Saia and HST even better.”

New Terminal Managers Named

Several new managers for our CLT Region were recently introduced. First, Keith Barry was named our new HKY terminal manager. Though new to Saia, Keith has 24 years of industry experience, having previously served as a terminal manager at a couple of other large, LTL carriers. He has a bachelor’s degree in business management.

Scott Cooper was named the RCM terminal manager. Like Keith, Scott is new to the company but has 30 years of transportation experience having worked as a director of pricing and as both a terminal and traffic manager.

Tyrone Ellerbe was promoted to terminal manager at our FAY facility. He began his career at Saia in 2007 and had been successfully serving as our operations manager at the terminal. He is a graduate of Chesterfield-Marlboro Technical College located in South Carolina.

With Scott in the RCM management role, Matthew Moore was named the new GBO terminal manager. Matthew joined Saia in 2014 and had previously been serving as the RCM terminal manager. During his time with the company, he has effectively served as a zone manager, assistant terminal manager, operations manager, and as an inbound supervisor.
