Saia Opens Terminal in New York State

Saia opens facility in Newburgh, New York.

Saia LTL Freight opened a terminal this past Monday in Newburgh, New York, just south of Poughkeepsie. As part of the New York City metropolitan area, the new facility will provide Saia customers full coverage of the Hudson Valley and act as the carrier’s second breakbulk terminal in the region, offering accelerated service into and out of the Northeast.

“Providing our customers with industry-leading service remains our top priority,” said Saia Executive Vice President of Operations Paul Peck. “Our Newburgh terminal is just the latest example of this commitment. Again, our operations, sales and management teams have worked to ensure this new facility is staffed and ready to meet shipper demand starting Monday.”

With the opening of the Newburgh facility, Saia added several new team members, including management, office, sales, and operational personnel such as drivers and dockworkers. The terminal is still hiring for several positions. Interested candidates can visit https://www.saia.com/about-us/work-for-us to learn more about the positions and apply.

This is the second facility Saia has opened in the last several weeks. A new terminal, offering coverage throughout both Rhode Island and Connecticut, opened March 11 in Wrentham, Massachusetts. As previously announced, additional terminals in the Northeast are scheduled to open throughout the year along with continued investments in existing Saia facilities.
